In the midst of the award/holiday season viewing rush, audience members have been complaining about how repeat trailers have originally peaked their interest in future films for the first two (2) viewings and subsequently have turned them off from seeing (or even renting) the movie.

Hollywood you better listen to Professor Presti and revisit how you are using that valuable trailer space– rotate different promotion clips showcasing different characters at your exhibitors and make sure each clip has an "expiration" date.  Otherwise, you will be wasting P&A dollars and doing irreversible damage to future box office potential.

I Wanna Be On will be analyzing historical data to determine the robustness of our test group.  No doubt, we are confident that Hollywood can learn an invaluable lesson in future film promotion.

Can the press have anything "fair" to say about an expensive gamble or are more traditional producers conspiring against Spider-Man's success?  After all, if the show does succeed (by some bizarre miracle), it will create a new financial model against which all future musicals will need to compete.  We can remember the influence of the British mega-musical model in the 1980s– Spider-Man would revisit that trend on steroids!

Spider-Man, the musical, has turned out to be an ego-driven production with more spectacle, than artistic merit.  Professor Presti has opined that the show is in bad shape and requires outside creative eyes for major revisions.  That said, the Spider-Man team deserves some respect for attempting to mount a $65M musical.  Unless there are other some patentable flying equipment the producing team owns that can be licensed to other musicals or live events, Spider-Man will be as much a financial disaster as an artistic flop.

The web has been cast– the show is as cursed as the theater in which it resides!  That is one constant, immutable variable.

P.S.  Professor Presti has been asked what will finally "close" the show in light of the actors' outrage over recent injuries.  His official response "Besides the critic notices, once an audience member suffers an injury from a falling actor or other piece of scenery, the show will post a closing notice."
